MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR THE BETTER

COMMUNITY COACH TRIP

Look what we've done. The Red Lion is now on tour! ANNUALLY!
We booked a coach trip to take our elderly community to Clacton On Sea 2022. And then to Broadstairs 2023. We plan on taking them to Walton-on-the-naze in 2024
The price was a fraction of the cost as we paid the difference due to the cost of living.
Jackie and Sarah joined them on the coach and made the trip fun both ways.
We are hoping to make this an annual thing as well as other trips in the planning so keep eyes peeled.

CHARITY BIKE RIDE

2022 We raised money for Lister Hospital Macmillan Cancer Support as this cause is very close to a lot of our hearts.
Theme was optional cops and robbers. We had a ride around the countryside pubs, then headed to The Red Lion for live music, food and drinks and an auction and raffle.
We managed to raise £3550 to this fantastic cause.
Thank you to the community for coming together.
2023 We did it all again but this time we had an 80s theme.
We raised money for Isobel Hospice.

PENSIONERS ROAST

This is our monthly Pensioners Roast day, held on the first Wednesday of every month.
The price is only £4.00 per person.
Community spirit shines through on this day.
In December we hold a three course meal, celebrating Christmas.

LION CUBZ KIDZ EVENTS

Children are a big part of our pub community.
We regularly hold events etc, specifically for the kids.

UKRAINE DONATIONS

Together we stood with Ukraine and sent an amazing amount of donations where they were needed the most.
Charity is not always on your doorstep and therefore we really appreciate the amount of people that came together at a time like this to make a slight difference.

DEFIBRILLATOR FUNDRAISER

We are extremely proud to announce that we managed to raise enough money within one week for a defibrillator to be supplied and fitted to the side of our pub.

The money raised also allowed us to train others how to use this in an emergency.

All further money raised went to British Heart Foundation.

Of course we wouldn't have been able to do this without our community donations and therefore we are very grateful for all the kind generosity.

Community spirit definitely pulled through on this fundraiser.

PARISH COUNCIL COMMUNITY AWARD

We were blown away when we were awarded the Woolmer Green Parish Council Community Award.
Its lovely to see that all our hard work is being recognised.
This is displayed now on our bar with pride.
One thing we do know is that we will continue to thrive within the community.
